Before and after: window and patio door projects

Each picture shows the original window or door on the left and our replacement on the right. The notes explain what the homeowner wanted to fix and what we chose together.

Before and after: a builder-grade bay window on a brick home, replaced with a new triple-pane bay with larger double-hungs — Triple-pane bay window Before: This bay window had gaps and seal failure due to the builder-grade quality of this unit, causing crumbling seals and wood rot. After: The bay window was replaced with this premium-quality, triple-pane unit. It is now low-maintenance and boasts a full, heavy-duty screen with larger double-hungs to maximize its intended use.

Before and after: a busy, inefficient window on a sided home, replaced with a triple-pane double-hung window with grids inside the glass — Double-hung window with Colonial grids Before: This window had very low energy-efficiency and a very busy, obstructive view. After: The new double-hung replacement window we installed not only has the premium-quality, triple-pane package, but also has a less-distracting view. Keeping with the Colonial look, these designer grids are enclosed within the insulated glass. The premium exterior capping we use around our windows is low-maintenance and provides the look of painted cedar for an elegant style.

Before and after: drafty picture-style windows on a brick home, replaced with a new configuration of triple-pane units — Quieter triple-pane windows on a busy street Before: Our clients purchased their home with these newer windows. However, they were very drafty and flimsy due to their low-grade quality. With a newborn in the home, our clients felt efficiency and high-quality performance was a priority, so they called us. After: Changing the configuration of these units updated the look of the home and allowed our clients to get full airflow, but only when they open them. These triple-pane units are helping reduce outside noise on this busy street while deflecting the sun's heat.

Before and after: large drafty windows on a sided home, replaced with a custom configuration of transoms over oriel-style units — Custom oriel-style windows with prairie grids Before: These large multiple units were drafty and lacked energy-efficiency. Our client's view was obstructed and the home got lost in the neighborhood, so our client was open to suggestions on an aesthetically appealing but high-efficiency alternative. After: This custom-designed configuration completely changed the look of this home and made it an appealing eye-catcher in the neighborhood. Our client opted for smaller transoms above oriel-style units with encased prairie grids to maximize the view. All units have the triple-pane package for high-efficiency performance.

Before and after: a swinging patio door on a home with red siding, replaced with a beige 6100 Series sliding patio door — 6100 Series sliding patio door Before: This swinging patio door did not have a proper seal system, a flimsy, restrictive screen and was not very aesthetically appealing from the exterior of the home. After: The new 6100 Series sliding patio door has the triple-pane energy package and an exceptional seal system to ensure maximum performance. The standard, integrated locking system allows for peace of mind, as the panels are deterred from lifting by an intruder. This sliding patio door also has an interior foot lock, eliminating the need for the traditional bar. This screen is the most heavy-duty in the industry and offers ease of operation. Our client chose the beige color to complement the deep color of the exterior.
